Dunlop Foams has partnered with the National Asthma Council for close to 20 years, and that partnership has helped raise over a million dollars for asthma awareness and education. The Sensitive Choice black butterfly means a product is made using a component or material that carries Sensitive Choice endorsement. Tattersfield mattresses are made with Dunlop Foams' endorsed foam, which is treated with Ultra-Fresh antimicrobials. That's why you'll see the black butterfly on our range.
Ultra-Fresh protection
The foam comfort layers inside Tattersfield mattresses are treated with Ultra-Fresh, an antimicrobial technology developed by a Canadian company with over 60 years of experience in antimicrobial treatments.
It's applied directly into the foam during manufacturing, rather than sprayed on as a surface coating, so it becomes a permanent part of the foam for the life of the mattress.Ultra-Fresh works continuously to inhibit the growth of bacteria, mould, and mildew: the microbes that cause odour, staining and material degradation.
Because it's integrated into the foam rather than sitting on top of it, Ultra-Fresh protection doesn't wash off or wear away the way a surface treatment would. The treatment is safe and odourless, and doesn't emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs).Dust mites feed on the same microbes that Ultra-Fresh controls. By limiting their food source, Ultra-Fresh helps keep dust mite populations in check directly within the foam. This matters because dust mite debris, including body parts and dander, is a major allergy trigger that can cause sneezing, congestion and skin irritation for sensitive sleepers.
